In-Mold Labelling (IML)

The IML or in-Mold Labelling process is the finishing of the plastic workpiece during the production process. The pattern film is applied to the inner wall of the cavity and then injection molding the workpiece. The resulting workpiece has a beautiful surface, durable pattern does not peel off because the pattern film melts into the same texture as the plastic workpiece.

Benefits of IML:

1. Outstanding Print Quality

Offset printing technique ensures high-resolution images, with up to 8 colors, for your labels.

2. Durable

In mold labels (IMLs) are humidity resistant and temperature stable—making them an excellent choice for frozen and refrigerated products.

3. Hygienic

Scratches, cracks and wrinkles in labels or packaging can harbor bacteria. Closures with IMLs are scratch resistant, cannot crack or shrink and are not susceptible to wrinkles, which makes them more hygienic.

4. Shorter Production Time and Lower Production Costs

Closures with IMLs are produced in a single step—which means no need to transport or store blank closures.

5. Environmentally-friendly

IMLs and closures consist of the same material and can therefore be fully recycled.
